MARK PETTY

Music. Mountains. Stewardship.

I am a conductor and outdoor educator focused on fostering connection with the natural world through music, adventure, and wonder.  Our songs can help bring meaning to the awe we feel in nature, and likewise the earth can inform the music we make and share with one another.

ICELANDIC CHORAL MUSIC & NORTHERN LANDSCAPES

Iceland's music is rooted deep in the stark and beautiful landscape of its origin.  Born from expansive glaciers, wrackful volcanoes, and pristine waterfalls, the songs echo a distinct boreal sonority.  As our connection to nature drives our protection of it, I am exploring how this kind of music can strengthen our bonds to the natural world and grow environmental stewardship in our local and global communities.
